I joined CCSR in September 2006 having previously held lecturing and research posts at the Universities of Liverpool and Sheffield. My current research is investigating the role of ethnicity in migration processes and has two themes: 1) life event explanations of ethnic differences in internal migration; 2) the relations between migration histories (of people and places) and neighbourhood belonging (place-based identity).
I am a member of the Population, Ethnicity, Religion and Migration (PERM) research group and part of the teaching team for Demography and CCSR's MSc in Social Research Methods
and Statistics. I am pleased to receive enquiries about my work, PhD
supervision or potential collaboration.
