Jo Wathan joined CCSR in 1995 to under an ESRC studentship to work on the gendered division of paid labour between 1975 and 1996. After a spell working in the School of Economic Studies at the University of Manchester undertaking a range of administrative, IT and demonstrator tasks she returned to CCSR and worked as a researcher on the Alternative Household Classifications project. More recently she has written material for teaching quantitative methods with the SARs as part of the Contemporary and Historical Census Collection Project (CHCC).
At present her time is spent supporting large social datasets. These are the Samples of Anonymised Records (SARs)and the large-scale government datasets. The latter is work done under the auspices of the Economic and Social Data Service.
Queries about the SARs can be directed to sars-helpdesk@man.ac.uk.
