Helen
joined CCSR in October 2004 as a research student under
the supervision of Mark Tranmer and Alan Trickett.
Before starting
her PhD at CCSR, Helen worked as a consultant for two years
in the Transportation Planning Division (Social and Market
Research team) of an International Transport Consultancy.
As well as working within this team, Helen also worked with
other teams within the division where statistical or research
support was required. Her educational background includes
a BSc (Econ) in Social Policy, Government and Political
Theory and an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics.

project
Property
Crime in Context: A multilevel analysis of the British Crime
Survey
This
project aims to put property crime in context. Helen will
use multilevel modelling methods to investigate the nature
and extent of household and local area level variations
in property crime, using British Crime Survey data from
1998, 2000 and 2001.
