"Social grade is a socio-economic classification used by the Market Research and Marketing Industries. The algorithm for deriving Approximated Social Grade was developed with the Market Research Society. Results produced using the algorithm are similar to other sources of information on social grade for Household REferenc Persons aged 16-64 (and for adults aged 16-64) but show significant differences in England and Wales from other sources for those aged 65 and above, which will affect the total counts." More information is available from the Market Research Society at http://www.mrs.org.uk/networking/cgg/cggsocialgrade.htm.
