CAMS Access

The Controlled Access Microdata Samples (CAMS) are files containing more detail than the 2001 Individual Licensed SAR and 2001 Special Licence Household SAR. They can only be accessed in a safe setting within ONS, subject to an approval process.

Charges

A charge is applicable for use of the CAMS but use of the CAMS to academic researchers is now free (except for work contracted by government or private organisations). This decision is based on negotiations with the ESRC and is backdated to 1 December 2006.
