2001 SARs consultation

The Requested Specification for the SARs

In September 2001 CCSR sent a requested specification for a Household and Individual Samples of Anonymised Records (SARs)from the 2001 Census to ONS. ONS have now made an initial response to this request in which they propose the release of less detailed data than was available for 1991 in order to avoid disclosure of individual information.

ONS Consultation

Details of the proposed datasets are set out in a consultation document, released 25th October 2002, available online at http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/cn_34.asp . ONS are requesting comments about the proposals by 29th November.

CCSR Consultation

We have undertaken two consultation meetings with SAR users. Notes of these are available below:

Your views are welcome

At CCSR we will be producing a composite response to the ONS consultation document. This will include the notes from the consultation meetings together with contributions from SAR users. To add a contribution to this document please email jo.wathan@man.ac.uk.

Alternatively you can view contributions sent by other users, reply to these or add your own new topics in our online discussion forum.
