Migration Race and Population Dynamics is a fresh approach to understanding Britain's ethnic composition and population change.
We are interested in the make-up of Britain's population in terms of ethnic group and how this changes as a result of migration and natural change (births and deaths).
In particular, our research:
- Investigates at a local scale
- Uses a demographic approach that considers the three components of population change: births, deaths and migration
- Considers how population changes over time
This research is a timely contribution to debates on diversity and integration in Britain.

2007 Conference In May 2007 MRPD research will be showcased at an International event hosted by POPLA and held at the University of Manchester. The event, “Demography’s contribution to debates on segregation, diversity and integration” comprises two day-courses plus a one-day conference. More...
