Edge Analytics offers a forecasting service, which extracts relevant data, fills appropriate POPGROUP workbooks, estimates rates and produces population forecasts. The service provides a data series from 1991 to the most recent population estimate and a series of forecasts based on these past trends. Full documentation is included in an accompanying report. The data and forecasts can be for local authority Districts based on the advice in the POPGROUP User Guide, or for wards or other areas within a District. Household and labour force forecasts can also be provided for local authority districts and for smaller areasin a district. The service is suitable for those without the time to devote to the data processing and analysis described in the Guide. The forecasts then provide a basis for further in-house development by the user, who has full access to the input and output files.
