LABGROUP includes features to load very easily national Labour Force projections and Census output provided by ONS. Other data may be entered by users in the usual manner. Brief notes on sources are:
ONS projections of economic activity rates used by LABGROUP
ONS does not produce
labour force forecasts for local areas at present. The last ONS labour force
projections were published in 1998 (national) and 1995 (regional). The projections
of economic activity rates consistent with the 1998 publication are provided
for LABGROUP users in "[ONS_Tables.xls]" with the software.
More recent work by ONS included projections of labour force published in
2002, using economic activity rates for spring 2001 from the LFS and, assuming
stable rates, applying these to the 2000-based population projections for
2002, 2005 and 2010.
1991 Census
Local economic activity rates for districts in England and Wales from the 1991 Census are provided in the file "[EcAct91forDists98EW.xls]" with the software.
2001 Census
A file of economic activity data from the 2001 Census for districts in the UK are provided in the file "[EcAct01DistsEW.xls]" with the software.
