The Summer Institute
The Summer Institute will
take place between 11 July and 16 July at the University of Bristol.
It is focused on both graduate students and new researchers (postdocs
and junior lecturers). There will be up to 35 participants who will
have an extensive opportunity for deliberation, reflection and sustained
discussion including facilitated discussion groups, participant
presentations, debates and panels, training and skills development
modules and keynote and plenary sessions:
- plenary presentations from four invited global contributors
- thematic discussions, debates, and conversations, dealing with
major issues confronting economic geography
Output
In addition to the meeting itself, deliverables
will include (a) the establishment of a Summer Institute web site
and (b) contributions to a forthcoming edited volume “Politics
and Practice in Economic Geography”. The web site will include
papers presented at the meeting, supporting documentation, forthcoming
meetings, application procedures and fellowship programmes and a
means for those unable to attend the meeting to make use of the
associated materials. Links will be established to the major economic
geography web sites. |
