The morning session on longitudinal analysis provided an introduction to the analysis potential of longitudinal data. In this session participants will be able to meet the teams responsible for producing the key UK longitudinal data sources and find out more about accessing and using these data. This will include:

The British Household Panel Study, Jon Burton, University of Essex
The 1958 and 1970 British Cohort Studies, Jane Elliott, University of Liverpool
The Millennium Cohort
The ONS Longitudinal Study for England and Wales, Julian Buxton, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
The Scottish Longitudinal Study

The Families and Children Study, conducted by DWP, www.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd5/facs/, Stephen Morris
The English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, ELSA, Carli Lessof

Staff from these major UK longitudinal studies will be available to answer questions about the studies and data. Staff from ESDS Longitudinal will also be on hand to answer questions about accessing data, data availability via NESSTAR and supporting users.
