ESDS, QB and SOSIG resources

Booking is not required for this session

This is a drop-in session to provide information about the Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS), the Question Bank and SOSIG.

This session will provide an introduction to the services and support available to UK academics.

Staff from ESDS specialist services will be available to give demonstrations and answer questions on ESDS registration, accessing data, supporting data users and, for those who are creating data, data deposit procedures. ESDS data, covering a broad range of quantitative and qualitative sources, are available for research, teaching and learning.

Staff from the Question Bank and Survey Link Scheme will provide information and demonstrations.

The Social Science Information Gateway, SOSIG, www.sosig.ac.uk, will demonstrate a new "Research Methods and Tools" section, which offers a free guide to the best Web resources in this field. This includes an online tutorial aimed at researchers and students called "Internet for Social Research Methods".
