Mixed methods

Bookings for the conference have now closed. Back to the Programme.

This session is now fully booked

Date: Thursday 20th July

Venue: Bernard Sunley Theatre

Time: 2.00-5.30

Title: Mixed-methods

Mixed methods are becoming increasingly used but research based on mixed methods tends not to be explicit about the reason for using different methods and often stops short of integrating the results (Bryman, 2005). In some cases research is reported from one method only. This session sets out to show-case a small number of research exemplars which use mixed methods. The presenters have been asked to make explicit the rationale for using mixed methods; the research design; how the different methods relate to each other ands how results have been integrated.
