The ethical, legal and institutional issues of e-research

The Oxford e-Social Science Project (OeSS)

Chair: Bill Dutton, Director of the Oxford e-Social Science Project, Oxford Internet Institute

This session will consist of a panel of speakers from the OeSS project.

There will be two joint papers:

 

(1) Michael Parker, OeSS Project, Ethox Centre and Annamaria Carusi, OeSS Project, Computing Laboratory, University of Oxford will present a synthesis of two workshops on ethics in e-science and will discuss emergent ethical issues in e-social science research

(2) Ralph Schroeder and Jenny Fry, OeSS; Oxford Internet Institute will discuss what is new about ethics in e-social science in relation to frameworks developed in internet research and how we might approach this in the context of the Oxford e-Social Science project.
