Title: Validity and Explanation in Qualitative and Quantitative Research

Aims of session:

This session comprises two parts which may be attended separately or together. In the first part, difficulties related to causal attribution and explanation in quantitative research are discussed. In the second part, these issues are discussed in relation to qualitative research, with an additional focus on quality indicators in qualitative research.

Who is this session for?

The sessions assume an interest in qualitative and quantitative methods but no specific prior knowledge.
