CAROLE TORGERSON
Carole Torgerson is a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute for Effective Education at the University of York. Her main methodological interests are in the fields of research synthesis and trial design in educational research. Carole’s substantive field is literacy. She is currently engaged in undertaking a number of systematic reviews and in methodological work based on those reviews. She has also recently completed two randomized controlled trials (with colleagues at the Universities of Sheffield and York) evaluating interventions in the broad area of literacy, and is currently joint project director of the ESRC Researcher Development Initiative: Training in Pragmatic Social Interventions. In October 2006 Carole took over as Co-Chair and Editor of the Campbell Collaboration Education Group.
