Hands-on Workshop on Occupational Coding CCSR, University of Manchester 24 November 2005 10.30 - 4.00 This workshop will give participants the opportunity to try out new software for coding text to standard occupational and/or industrial classifications. Whether as part of your research or for business information, accurate coding of text to these large and complex classifications can be resource consuming (and tiring!). Following a demonstration, each participant will have the opportunity to try out the software on text files they have brought with them or on supplied examples and will receive a free trial version of the software. There is no charge for attendance, and lunch will be provided.
