Hands-on Workshop on Occupational Coding

CCSR, University of Manchester

24 November 2005

10.30 - 4.00

This workshop will give participants the opportunity to try out new software for coding text to standard occupational and/or industrial classifications.  Whether as part of your research or for business information, accurate  coding of text to these large and complex classifications can be resource consuming (and tiring!).

Following a demonstration, each participant will have the opportunity to try out the software on text files they have brought with them or on supplied examples and will receive a free trial version of the software.

There is no charge for attendance, and lunch will be provided.
