Course Aims

   The Social Research Methods and Statistics (SRMS) MSc course aims to provide:

        A thorough grounding in social research design and related issues

        The tools for collecting statistical data using a range of sampling designs

        Skills in methods of data analysis, including advanced statistical methods for complex data

        The skills needed to present research effectively, in both written and oral form

        Instruction and practice in planning, conducting and writing up an independent piece of  

        research (for students proceeding to the dissertation MSc only).
