Invitation to Participate in Learning About Mixed Methods

 

We are pleased to announce a mixed-methods research training workshop June 15, 2010.  Staff, researchers, and students of all kinds are invited to attend.  Registration is open until 5 June. A small fee is charged to cover the travel of the speakers, the food, and a small workshop Pack. Axel Marx, of the University of Antwerp Management School, will join in the various activities.

10.20   Dr. Axel Marx, University of Antwerp Management School on the Qualitative Comparative Analysis of the Certification of International Footwear Companies

11.00   Prof. David Byrne, University of Durham on Process tracing and QCA

11.40   Dr. Stefan Kuehner and Dr. John Hudson, University of York on Analysing the Productive and Protective Dimensions of Welfare

ONE-HOUR BREAKOUT WORKSHOPS: You will choose one from the following

  • Demonstration on handling mixed methods research data using NVIVO, by Jean David with Badru Bukenya .
  • Medical and health applications of Systematic mixed methods research, by Professor David Byrne.
  • Computer practical in running fuzzy set QCA software, by Dr Wendy Olsen.
  • Discussion of qualitative comparative analysis in practice, by Dr Stefan Kuehner and  Dr John Hudson.
  • Qualitative comparative analysis in practice, by Axel Marx.

All the titles are provisional and we also anticipate a mixed-methods contribution from Daniel Neff.
