Wednesday 23 June
2004, 9:45 – 12:30
Room 3.51, Williamson Building, University of Manchester
This half-day workshop
is an introduction to the UK large-scale government survey data
that are available for secondary analysis such as the Labour Force
Survey, General Household Survey, Health Survey for England and
the British Crime Survey. Attendees will learn about the research
potential of such data, how to register for and access data and
where to go for help, among other things. There will also be a
hands-on computing session to introduce Nesstar, SPSS, STATA and
basic data manipulation and analysis. The workshop will have a
particular focus on the theme of health. Attendees may also want
