Datasets for research: an introductory workshop

A half-day workshop to learn about the UK large-scale government survey data and the international datasets that are available for secondary analysis. Attendees will learn about the research potential of such data, how to register for and access data and where to go for help, among other things.
The workshop will provide an overview of the key large-scale government surveys such as the Labour Force Survey, General Household Survey, Health Survey for England and the British Crime Survey. Attendees will learn about the research potential of such data, how to register for and access data and where to go for help. Key international datasets such as the OECD Main Economic Indicators and IMF Direction of Trade Statistics will also be covered. The workshop will have a particular focus on the theme of employment and the labour market.
